Overview
Provides accurate translation and interpretation from and to Russian, integrating a gender perspective, and supports the outreach programme of the Group of independent experts on Belarus.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides accurate translation/interpretation from/to Russian.
- Integrates a gender perspective in language and documentation.
- Participates in field missions and interprets interviews.
- Checks verbatim records of meetings.
- Assists in the production of accurate translation of written and oral statements.
- Supports the outreach programme.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience in translation and/or interpretation, including as part of academic research work, is required.
- One year of work experience in the above areas within the United Nations Common Systems is desirable.
- Experience in providing translation or interpretation during investigations or on human rights-related subjects is desirable.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree in translation, interpretation, languages, or a related field.
- A first level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
