Overview

Produces digital material by typing, transcribing, editing, and formatting documents, and creating graphics. Performs proofreading and ensures accurate incorporation of changes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Produces digital material by typing, transcribing, editing and formatting documents, as well as creating graphics, in desktop and mobile publishing layout, in accordance with existing guidelines.
  • Performs proofreading functions to ensure that processing changes have been accurately incorporated.
  • Ensures that all digital elements have been properly included and cross-linked, numerical data have been correctly transcribed, and obvious errors have been corrected.
  • Participates in the production of digital content by preparing desktop and mobile publishing layout.
  • Compiles submitted corrections and edits documents in relevant language, according to required format.
  • Performs other modified text-processing functions.
  • Rotates on daytime, after-hours and weekend work shifts, as needed.
  • Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports.
  • Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
  • Performs other related work as required.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of three years experience in desktop publishing or a related field, including draft typing, copy editing, formatting, proofreading and creating typographical layouts, is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 1 for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
  • Experience managing professional digital and social media accounts at the international level is required.
  • Experience producing digital material tailored to multiple platforms is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the work of the Department of Peace Operations, its peacekeeping missions, mandates, and operating contexts is required.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership offices and coordinating with multiple DPO sections and missions is required.
  • Experience creating and editing content optimized for desktop and mobile layout is required.
  • Experience producing data visualization materials is required.
  • Experience in the analysis of data, as well as the preparation of data presentations and performance reports, is desirable.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
