Overview

The Project Coordinator will assist in the development and day-to-day operation of project activities, focusing on coordinating UN-Nutrition efforts and fostering multi-sectoral collaboration to address malnutrition and food insecurity.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic input to project technical aspects.
  • Provide overall coordination and leadership of the UN-Nutrition Secretariat.
  • Work in partnership with Technical Leads from UNN member agencies.
  • Strengthen coordination and linkages with nutrition and food security focal points.
  • Lead strategic planning, partnership development, and resource mobilization.
  • Represent UN-Nutrition in high-level advocacy platforms.
  • Liaise, coordinate and participate in field project activities and facilitate events.
  • Develop and submit detailed monthly work and budget plans.
  • Orchestrate the timeline of all activities across project components.
  • Lead day-to-day implementation arrangements.
  • Oversee all activity budgeting, human resources, and procurement planning.
  • Support the AFAOR (Programme) in ensuring project compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Programme Specialist to monitor and report on fund utilization.
  • Direct the documentation of lessons learned and technical experiences.
  • Coordinate with the DIEM Team and MEAL team for DIEM data/ survey process and MEAL activities.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with other projects for promoting synergies and complementarities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
  • At least 10 years of practical experience.
  • Of which 7 years in managing projects and teams.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, food security and nutrition, project management, coordination and other developmental approaches that emphasize coordination among nutrition stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience with UN agencies, especially FAO, UNICEF, WHO, and UNFPA.
  • Extent of relevant experience managing programs, people, budgets, reporting, and work plans, particularly for internationally funded projects.
  • Experience supporting, advising, and collaborating with relevant institutions, including engaging with high-level counterparts.
  • Experience applying strategic thinking to managing complex programs in dynamic political and environmental contexts.
  • Experience communicating complex issues to diverse stakeholders in clear, understandable terms.
  • Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, from field-level target groups to national level institutions.
  • Extent of relevant experience with internationally funded projects.
  • Experience in international, geographically dispersed, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Prior preparation and submission of written reports for an international developmental agency, a governmental department, or a major NGO.
  • Proven capacity and experience of working with nutrition stakeholders.
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Qualifications

• Advanced University Degree in Policy, Public Administration, Nutrition, Health, Environmental, Agriculture, preferably with a major in Conflict Resolution or related field.
