Overview
The Health Program intern will provide direct support to IRC-SLC Health Programs by assisting in identifying clients’ needs, providing support, scheduling appointments, teaching classes, facilitating screenings, organizing groups, transporting clients, referring clients to community resources, and other special projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in weekly health program meetings and weekly supervision
- Assist clients in accessing health services and resources and gaining self-sufficiency.
- Enter and track data in systems.
- Provide public transit orientations to clients or transport clients to one health appointment weekly.
- Strengthen relationships with partner organizations and identify improved avenues for treatment and clients’ success.
- Identify areas of growth and development for IRC-SLC’s health program and assist in program development goals.
- Other, as assigned and/or determined by Health Program Supervisor.
Required Experience
Experience working with diverse populations.
Qualifications
- Background and/or current study in public health, health promotion, social work, psychology, or other related field,
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to drive clients highly prioritized
- Must pass a required background check.
