Overview
This internship supports the Risk to Resilience metrics project within the Global Risk Analysis and Reporting Section. The role involves data collection, methodological review, and logistical support for meetings and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct desk research and structured data collection to support the integration of risk and resilience metrics
- Assist in reviewing methodological documentation of partner datasets
- Support metadata mapping of partner layers
- Assist in mapping institutional partners contributing datasets and compile inputs from partners into structured matrices
- Provide logistical and administrative support during meetings and conferences
- Support the organization of internal and external meetings, side events, webinars and expert group meetings
- Assist in preparing training and learning events and other capacity building initiatives for Disaster Risk Reduction
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- Have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
