Overview

The Intern will translate complex geodetic and Earth observation concepts into accessible visual narratives and develop digital and print communication materials.


Key Responsibilities
  • Translate complex geodesy, GNSS, satellite-based positioning, and Earth observation concepts into accessible visual narratives.
  • Develop data visualizations, diagrams, workflows, and SmartArt-style graphics.
  • Enhance and update existing UN-GGCE communication materials.
  • Support outreach activities, including visual content for events, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Design and develop digital and print communication materials.
  • Collaborate closely with technical colleagues.
  • Perform other related communication and outreach tasks as assigned.
Required Experience

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative applications, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, is required. Applicants with a background in geospatial sciences, geography, environmental sciences, or Earth observation, combined with demonstrated design and visualization skills, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
  • The field of study must be in graphic design, visual communication, multimedia design, information design, communications, or a related field. Cadidates must:
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
