Overview

The consultant will operationalize the Disaster Management (DM) badge in Bhutan by developing a contextualized toolkit and facilitating its validation and rollout through training.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review and contextualize the Regional Disaster Management (DM) Toolkit badge for Bhutan’s hazard profile and national DM protocols.
  • Adapt and draft all components of the Bhutan DM Badge Toolkit.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate the national validation workshop.
  • Manage and facilitate a 5-day national Training of Trainers (ToT).
  • Review and adapt SIMEX scenarios for the Bhutan context.
  • Facilitate and coach on-the-job for the first regional ToT and support the rollout of three regional-level ToTs.
  • Consolidate training records, photos, coaching notes and lessons learned.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in DRR/DM, capacity development, humanitarian action or youth engagement.
  • Proven experience in designing and facilitating ToTs or training.
  • Experience working with government counterparts, preferably in education or disaster management.
  • Prior experience with similar assignments would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in for the UN or government institutions especially with MoESD is an asset.
Qualifications

• Masters/Advanced Degree in Disaster Risk Management, Education, Social Sciences or relevant field.
