Overview
To implement the communications plan by supporting and delivering a range of communications activities, providing research and analysis, and prioritizing effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement country specific communication work plans to maintain and enhance WFP's visibility and reputation, and support fundraising.
- Contribute to communications through research, analysis, and preparation/distribution of information products.
- Maintain a contact list of journalists and media outlets to support news flow about WFP's work.
- Support the social media plan by developing content and utilizing platforms, networks, and partners.
- Generate donor specific visibility content including text, photos, videos, and audio for online platforms.
- Monitor and analyze traditional and social media to inform communication activities and strategies.
- Guide and supervise more junior staff.
- Collate outreach data and contribute to report preparation.
- Support capacity building of WFP staff on communication aspects.
- Liaise with WFP staff and external counterparts for aligned activities.
- Follow standard emergency preparedness practices.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of overall experience, including 3 years of Professional Experience (managerial or supervisory) in areas related to Communications or other related field. Within these 3 years of professional experience, a minimum of 1 year of experience must be after postgraduation.
Qualifications
Completion of Advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) is required. Education in Journalism, International Relations, Public Relations, Communications or any relevant field.
