Overview
The Coordination Officer provides coordination, analytical, and administrative support to the Chief of Mission and the Chief of Mission Office. The role facilitates information flow, supports planning and coordination processes, and assists in the preparation of briefings and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide coordination and backstopping support to the Chief of Mission Office.
- Support the Chief of Mission with coordination mechanisms, planning processes, and partnership engagement.
- Provide analytical, organizational, and conceptual support to the Chief of Mission.
- Coordinate with relevant units to collect and consolidate inputs for briefings and presentations.
- Track organizational and operational developments and support coordination with Headquarters and the Regional Office.
- Prepare status reports and draft or consolidate inputs for communications.
- Undertake research on substantive and management-related issues.
- Undertake duty travels in the region, as required.
Required Experience
- Master’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience; or Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in the coordination of offices/departments/divisions and executive units.
- Proven experience in supporting and advising executive leadership.
- Proven experience in organizing/coordinating events/meetings at regional and global levels.
- Experience in the field of migration and development issues, including operational and regional/field experience, project development, management and reporting.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, donors, academia, other national/international institutions and Non-Governmental Organizations NGOs.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
