Overview
The Communications Assistant will contribute to the development and implementation of a Country Office (CO) communications and advocacy strategy, and provide administrative support for visibility and advocacy materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a CO communications and advocacy strategy.
- Provide administrative support to the development of CO’s visibility and advocacy materials.
- Provide support in the management of the CO’s social media presence and contribute to UN and regional websites.
- Provide media relations support to the CO head of office.
- Facilitate knowledge management and sharing.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in providing support to the formulation and implementation of internal and external communications and advocacy strategies and related plans;
- Experience in the use of computers applications and software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) as well as web-based management systems.
- Experience in the use of social media and digital communication.
- Experience in supporting a team is an asset.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism is an asset.
