Overview

The Regional Coordinator of Advocacy, Campaigns and Child Participation coordinates the strategic design, implementation, and measurement of advocacy initiatives to ensure the well-being of children in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role provides strategic advice to national offices and builds collaboration with regional bodies, governments, civil society, the private sector, and children to influence policy and behavioral change.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the strategic design, implementation, and measurement of evidence-based advocacy initiatives.
  • Provide strategic advice to focal points in national offices to implement and monitor advocacy plans.
  • Identify, build, and nurture collaboration relationships with regional bodies, national governments, civil society, private sector, and children.
  • Advance the rights of children through a local-to-global advocacy approach.
  • Design, implement, and monitor WVLAC regional advocacy strategy.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the Regional Advocacy & EE Plan.
  • Ensure advocacy is grounded in evidence and child rights principles.
  • Monitor regional trends and policy developments.
  • Coordinate roll out, implementation, and track results of global and regional campaigns.
  • Inform the inclusion of advocacy approaches in grant acquisition, programs, and humanitarian responses.
  • Map, identify strategic stakeholders and connect them to relevant counterparts.
  • Foster collaboration conducive to enhanced positioning and diversification of funding streams.
  • Identify, contact, build, and maintain high-level relationships with regional bodies.
  • Represent World Vision in regional forums, coalitions, and working groups.
  • Connect regional representations to local representations of relevant stakeholders.
  • Amplify the voices of children, fostering meaningful and inclusive participation.
  • Foster and nurture a regional network of child participation.
  • Develop and support mechanisms for meaningful child participation.
  • Amplify the voices of children in World Vision’s EE and positioning.
  • Collaborate with research, DME, and programs teams to generate data and evidence for advocacy.
  • Translate research findings into policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy messages.
  • Support National Offices in tailoring evidence for regional and global advocacy efforts.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to country offices on advocacy and child participation.
  • Foster cross-country learning and sharing of best practices.
  • Develop tools and guidance to strengthen advocacy capacity across the region.
  • Trace the progress of advocacy initiatives and child participation outcomes.
  • Contribute to regional and global reporting requirements.
Required Experience
  • 7 years of experience in advocacy, public policy, or child rights promotion, preferably in Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Experience working with or within regional bodies and multilateral institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage children and youth in participatory processes.
Qualifications

Mínimum Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Human Rights, Social Science, Public Policy, or related field.

Languages Required
Excellent speaking, writing, and comprehension skills in English and Spanish.
Languages Preferred
Portuguese and French are a plus.
