Overview

The position holder will be responsible for overseeing construction and rehabilitation activities in schools, conducting needs assessments, preparing Bills of Quantities, and supervising infrastructure-related activities to ensure quality standards and timelines are met.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical assessments of construction and rehabilitation needs.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
  • Support the procurement process, including the review and selection of supplier bids.
  • Supervise and monitor all infrastructure-related activities.
  • Support the formal handover of completed works.
  • Ensure the integration of aspects related to gender, child protection, Person with Disability, environment, and other crosscutting issues.
  • Report weekly written and daily updates to line manager.
  • Work with other team members to ensure integration and complementary of different sectors.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction.
  • Practical knowledge in terms of masonry, plumbing, carpentry, and pumping system.
  • Knowledge of using Auto cad and Archie cad.
  • Knowledge of preparation of estimates/BOQ.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to listen and adapt.
  • Community mobilization skills.
  • Computer literate, knowledge of Excel, Word, and power point.
  • Previous experience working with INGOs and familiarity with their procedures and policies is preferred.
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Languages Required
• Knowledge of the local language as well as Arabic is essential.
Languages Preferred
• English language skill is an advantage.
