Overview
The Supply & Logistics Officer will provide operational support for global emergency response, ensuring rapid mobilization of supplies and coordination with various UNICEF offices. The role focuses on early engagement, order management, delivery monitoring, and emergency reporting to enhance UNICEF's response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Emergency Sales Order Management Process, including screening, review, and approval of emergency flags.
- Monitor Open Emergency Sales Orders and follow up with relevant departments to expedite processes and meet KPIs.
- Provide guidance to Country Offices on best practices for Sales Orders.
- Support coordination of calls with emergency countries and document action points.
- Gather and summarize key information for the "Emergency bi-weekly Summary" report.
- Prepare Briefing Notes for thematic EMTs, R-EMTs, and other ad hoc meetings.
- Extract and share Critical Delivery Dashboard Data and alerts.
- Follow up on pending issues with Subject Matter Experts to find solutions.
- Support Country Offices in developing/updating Supply and Logistics Emergency Preparedness and Response Strategies.
- Review S&L strategies/Supply Plans and provide feedback.
- Organize review sessions with Regional/Country Offices.
- Support the management and coordination of project development related to emergency supply and logistics tools.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify, validate, and align technical and operational requirements.
- Support the preparation of concept notes and budget inputs.
- Lead coordination and follow-up on tool development activities.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in supply and logistics operations in emergency contexts, emergency response, supply chain optimization, strategic procurement, emergency preparedness and any other related fields.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is an advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law and any other related fields.
