Overview

Assist in disaster risk reduction efforts, focusing on recovery readiness and the Sendai Framework. The internship involves supporting communication, data analysis, and event organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in drafting and preparing background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, articles, presentations, meeting minutes, etc linked to recovery readiness unit
  • Contribute to data analysis and visualization to communicate and benchmark assessment results on recovery readiness in national and subnational contexts.
  • Support organization of meetings, conferences, and side events, and provide substantive, logistical and administrative support during meetings and conferences in virtual and hybrid modalities.
  • Assist in collecting and systematizing information on disaster risk reduction, in particular, related to Priority 4 of the Sendai Framework.
  • Support knowledge and content management for the International Recovery Platform (IRP).
  • Support the development of written communication products, including website content and development, newsletter, event pages and social media.
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
  • Pursuing or pursued their degree in areas related to this Job Opening.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications including MS Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
