Overview

Provide advice to strengthen the strategic direction and impact of UN system financial data and on the future direction of UN system financial reporting and data analysis.


Key Responsibilities
  • Consider important developments in the UN’s internal and external environment that should be considered in the development of a new Data Cube strategy or extension of the current strategy, and provide recommendations on related CEB Secretariat priorities for improving UN system-wide financial data, and next steps.
  • Provide strategic guidance for UN system consultations on UN system-wide financial data to be carried out by the CEB Secretariat in Q2 and Q3 of 2026, with a view to either extend the Data Cube strategy or explore a new strategy.
  • Provide strategic advice regarding partnerships with IATI, TOSSD and/or OECD reporting frameworks, including the Sevilla Platform for Action Interoperability project to ensure that CEB data sets remain aligned with IATI, OECD and TOSSD.
  • Make recommendations on translation of the HLCM Secretariat’s data vision into a practical transformation plan.
  • Provide strategic inputs on technical matters and advise on other related matters as required.
Required Experience

A minimum of 15 years’ experience in international organizations with senior-level management responsibilities in Finance, Budget, Accounting, Administration, or related area, of which a minimum of 5 within the United Nations System or comparable international organizations is required. Knowledge of the UN system and good understanding of the multilateral and bilateral development system is required. Experience working with more than one UN agency and leading inter-agency operations, as well as establishing partnerships is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, finance, budget, accounting, or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with at least two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
