Overview

The Project Architect will support the implementation of the Mayors Challenge in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, focusing on improving the conditions of street vendors and dignifying their work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Elaborate detailed designs for project equipment, including vendor charts.
  • Lead planning, decision-making, execution, and review of equipment needs.
  • Prepare Terms of References for procurement processes with technical specifications.
  • Supervise service providers and conduct performance reviews.
  • Certify satisfactory delivery of acquired services.
  • Facilitate analysis of information for procurement plans and monitoring.
  • Monitor project operations, including administrative tasks and inventory.
  • Elaborate technical knowledge products on project contributions to SDGs.
  • Contribute to policy briefs and knowledge materials on lessons learned.
  • Participate in global exchanges of experiences.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners, government officials, businesses, NGOs, and beneficiaries.
Required Experience
  • Applicants with a master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience.
  • Applicants with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in architecture or engineering with at least (1) experience working with urban related issues.
  • Proven experience of working with local governments and their associations.
  • Experience working on Agenda 2030 or other UN global agendas.
  • Experience working on projects working with informality, community organization or income generation for vulnerable population.
  • Experience in urban design and development processes, as well as in the development of architectural projects for public spaces.
Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Architecture is required.
  • OR: A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in Architecture in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience.
