Overview

This role focuses on enhancing community resilience to wildfire risks and promoting sustainable forest management through community engagement and participatory planning.


Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze community dynamics to inform engagement strategy.
  • Develop and implement participatory approaches for community involvement.
  • Establish and maintain communication channels with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate community consultations, workshops, and training.
  • Identify and engage relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with local partners.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings and information sharing.
  • Support the development of partnership agreements.
  • Assess capacity development needs.
  • Design and deliver training programs.
  • Develop and disseminate knowledge products.
  • Support the establishment of community-based monitoring systems.
  • Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Prepare regular progress reports.
  • Conduct field visits and participatory assessments.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder coordination, or participatory development in natural resource management or environmental conservation.
  • Experience in designing and implementing community-based projects, preferably related to sustainable forest management or wildfire risk reduction.
  • Experience working in Lebanon or the Middle East region (desired).
  • Experience with international development organizations or UN agencies (desired).
Qualifications
  • Masters degree or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical/Professional License with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • High School Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Secondary School Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Forestry, or related field (desired).
  • Certification in community engagement or related field (desired).
