Overview
This role focuses on enhancing community resilience to wildfire risks and promoting sustainable forest management through community engagement and participatory planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze community dynamics to inform engagement strategy.
- Develop and implement participatory approaches for community involvement.
- Establish and maintain communication channels with stakeholders.
- Facilitate community consultations, workshops, and training.
- Identify and engage relevant stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with local partners.
- Facilitate coordination meetings and information sharing.
- Support the development of partnership agreements.
- Assess capacity development needs.
- Design and deliver training programs.
- Develop and disseminate knowledge products.
- Support the establishment of community-based monitoring systems.
- Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework.
- Collect and analyze data.
- Prepare regular progress reports.
- Conduct field visits and participatory assessments.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder coordination, or participatory development in natural resource management or environmental conservation.
- Experience in designing and implementing community-based projects, preferably related to sustainable forest management or wildfire risk reduction.
- Experience working in Lebanon or the Middle East region (desired).
- Experience with international development organizations or UN agencies (desired).
Qualifications
- Masters degree or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Technical/Professional License with 6 years of relevant experience.
- High School Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Secondary School Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Forestry, or related field (desired).
- Certification in community engagement or related field (desired).
