Overview

The Investment Analyst role focuses on building a career with impact by assisting countries in solving development challenges through private sector engagement in emerging markets.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to develop investment, upstream and advisory projects with potential Japanese clients.
  • Prepare presentation slides in English and Japanese for business development purposes.
  • Contact, arrange, and attend business development meetings with clients.
  • Help plan, coordinate logistics, prepare briefs, and take minutes for high level meetings in Japan.
  • Understand and research different financing needs for potential Japanese clients in multiple industries.
  • Prepare investment or advisory committee materials in English for internal processing of new and existing investments.
  • Analyze financial statements and projections, build financial models, run sensitivities, prepare pricing comparability data, perform equity valuation, and evaluate industry/market data.
  • Gather and summarize project, sector, and country benchmarking information.
  • Identify data collection needs to support the assessment of financial, operational, development impact, and market information.
  • Attain and leverage basic knowledge of IFC’s policies and procedures.
  • Identify key stakeholders as input to business development and client engagement planning.
  • Extract lessons of IFC’s earlier investments or advisory mandates.
  • Multitask, be part of teams, and report to multiple internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Be proactive in learning and knowledge sharing and take initiatives to create transactions.
Required Experience

At least 2-3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience could include a proven track record in business consulting, investment banking, commercial banking, private equity or operational experience in the sector or technical or professional field.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Related fields of education include business, finance, or economics or an area of expertise specific to a sector, subject matter, or industry specialty.
