Overview
The Senior Urban Transport Specialist will provide thought leadership for urban mobility, lead knowledge product preparation, and offer advisory services to regional teams. The role focuses on private sector participation and capital mobilization in urban mobility.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify key challenges in Urban Mobility and initiate solutions and knowledge initiatives.
- Develop a menu of key policy and regulations options.
- Formulate strategic directions and implementation plans.
- Support quality assurance across the project cycle.
- Ensure global knowledge is applied to country engagements.
- Extract, curate, and disseminate lessons from WBG operations.
- Assess technical skill gaps and develop training.
- Support technical staff in deepening expertise.
- Lead or contribute to learning activities under Transport Academy Programs.
- Create and maintain content on the KTI intranet.
- Contribute to developing sessions for learning events.
- Convene staff affiliated to the Knowledge and Solutions Group for Urban Mobility.
- Convene field-based training and dissemination events.
- Identify and promote opportunities for peer exchange.
- Build relationships with internal partners.
- Build and nurture relationships with external players.
- Represent the World Bank Group in technical meetings and events.
- Participate in the organization of flagship events.
- Act as a public spokesperson for the World Bank Group’s perspective.
- Develop briefings, opinion editorials, and blogs.
- Contribute to the growth of resources and expansion of donors for transport trust funds.
- Participate in donor-led events.
Required Experience
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in urban mobility, in positions of increasing complexity and responsibility.
- Proven operational and development experience, including policy and investment lending, with a strong record of delivering complex operations and policy dialogue.
Qualifications
A Master or PhD degree in a relevant field.
