Overview

The Judicial Affairs Officer will monitor and report on developments in the justice and correction system in Kosovo, liaise with judicial institutions, and prepare legal opinions and reports.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report on developments in the justice and correction system in Kosovo.
  • Liaise at the technical level with representatives of Kosovo judicial institutions and EULEX, as well as with donors and other actors.
  • Prepare and review international wanted notices (IWN).
  • Perform extensive legal research and analysis and prepare legal opinions, studies, and reports.
  • Report weekly on rule of law-related matters.
  • Organize and maintain a filing system.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience

3 years Relevant experience 3 years Experience in post-conflict and/or peacekeeping environments is highly desirable. An understanding of the Kosovo political system and/or the applicable law is desirable. Computer skills: Windows, Microsoft office applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Excellent judicial affairs related qualifications and knowledge of central and local government structures, budget preparation, local financial and economic procedures and institutions.
