Overview

The UNV Experto - Técnico de Programas Tucupita will support the implementation of UNICEF's multisectoral programs in prioritized municipalities, facilitating coordination and contributing to actions in health, nutrition, education, child protection, and WASH.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor local context and its impact on UNICEF's cooperation program.
  • Monitor the situation of children.
  • Monitor programs.
  • Manage knowledge for programs.
  • Coordinate and collaborate operationally.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of critical indicators and quality assurance in humanitarian projects and/or programs.
  • Minimum of 2 years leading the implementation and supervision of field activities, with proven ability to operate autonomously in underserved and remote areas under demanding operational conditions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in social or humanitarian intervention in indigenous communities, with availability and aptitude for prolonged deployment in remote areas and limited infrastructure environments.
  • Experience in multicultural or indigenous contexts, particularly with vulnerable or hard-to-reach populations is highly valued.
  • Experience in humanitarian action, community-based programming, climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, or sustainability is valued.
  • Previous experience in the United Nations system or other international development or humanitarian organizations is valued.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong report writing, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • High standards of accuracy and professionalism in document preparation, data management, and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with cultural and social sensitivity; ability to work inclusively with a wide range of partners.
  • Ability to work effectively in difficult environments, including remote or hard-to-reach areas, and to perform well in multicultural teams.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), email/Internet usage, and basic database or information management tools.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
  • High security awareness and ability to follow and adapt to security protocols in field environments.
  • Demonstrated interest or affinity for humanitarian assistance, child rights, emergency response, indigenous rights, community participation, disaster preparedness, climate resilience, and the mission and values of the United Nations.
Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Policies, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, Public Health, Nutrition, Education, Environmental Health, WASH, Monitoring and Evaluation, Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Risk Reduction, Indigenous Peoples Studies, or another relevant field.

Remuneration
• Monthly living allowance of 1,819 USD. • A pre-assignment allowance (paid on the first payroll). • A final assignment allowance, paid upon completion of the contract, provided the corresponding conditions are met. • Medical, dental, and hospitalization insurance, as well as life and disability insurance.
