Overview
The Associate Information Management Officer - GIS supports data and information management activities, focusing on Geospatial data collection, processing, and analysis to strengthen UNHCR's leadership in refugee data.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and process Geospatial data
- Identify key needs and opportunities
- Maintain a clear flight schedule
- Engage with field offices and stakeholders to identify data gaps
- Provide meaningful Geospatial analysis
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in GIS\Mapping, Data Analysis, Data Management or other relevant programmes.
- Experience with ArcGIS,QGIS, Kobo, XSLForm, Power BI, Excel, SQL Server, ActivityInfo, R Studio is an asset.
- Experience working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information Technology, Data Science or area related to GIS, Mapping and/or Artificial Intelligence; a first-level university degree or equivalent in combination with relevant training and/or professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
