Overview

Consultant to support an EU funded project on Integrating Geospatial and Statistical Data across the UNECE region. The role will serve as the secretariat for a Task Force, organize a workshop, assess countries' data integration capabilities, and report on project progress.


Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the secretariat of the UNECE Task Force on improving interoperability of statistical and geospatial information.
  • Collect and identify good practices in applying common standards and setting up collaboration activities.
  • Develop guidelines for setting up joint activities using standards and frameworks.
  • Develop and test tools for geospatial and statistical organizations to aid joint activities.
  • Organize the second joint UNECE / Eurostat / UN-GGIM: Europe Workshop on Integrating Statistical and Geospatial Data.
  • Assess two countries in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia region on their ability to integrate geospatial and statistical data.
  • Provide recommendations on improving national capacity for data integration.
  • Present project updates and outcomes at relevant workshops, webspace, blog, and LinkedIn posts.
  • Report on project progress, implementation, and outcomes to United Nations platforms and the Donor.
Required Experience

At least 7 years experience in a national or international statistical or geospatial organisation.

Qualifications

An advanced degree in Statistics or geospatial information or a related field.
