Overview
The Statistics Intern will gain hands-on experience in statistical capacity-building initiatives, contributing to research and the development of implementation guidance for the Global Disaster-Related Statistics Framework (G-DRSF). The role involves enhancing visualizations of disaster-related statistics and supporting the framework's implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhancing Power BI–based visualizations of disaster-related statistics based on specific needs identified by the Thai NSO;
- Supporting the implementation of the G-DRSF in the national context of Thailand;
- Conducting research and contributing to the drafting of selected guidance notes to support G-DRSF implementation;
- Exploring fundraising opportunities to advance the operationalization of the G-DRSF, including drafting concept notes and project proposals;
- Performing other related work as required.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
- be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
