Overview

Internship opportunity within the Statistics Division, supporting the dissemination and analysis of data related to the Sustainable Development Goals.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the dissemination of the SDG progress report through ESCAP's web page and with the application of AI tools.
  • Support the visualization and user-friendly communication of the SDG data analysis for Asia and the Pacific.
  • Support SDMU in enhancing the data management and application of statistical techniques for the analysis of SDG data.
  • Perform other tasks as required.
  • Explore the feasibility of AI applications for enhancing user experience with SDG report.
  • Support the dissemination and communication of flagship publication on "Asia and the Pacific SDG Progress Report".
  • Timely support to the team in improving the data management procedures.
  • Draft research papers, blogs, and technical notes as needed.
  • Participate in meetings of the section and division.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field is required. Applicant shall be computer literate in standard software applications.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
at least three months with an opportunity for extension up to 6 months
Work Modality
Remotely or at Bangkok duty station.
Remuneration
The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
