The Associate Political Affairs Officer will analyze information to assess trends and support the implementation of planning and performance assessment systems in peacekeeping missions. The role involves preparing summaries, monitoring developments, and providing input into political, humanitarian, and economic efforts.
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in political science, international relations, law, disarmament, security, development management, conflict resolution, evaluation of organizational performance or related area. No experience is required for candidates who have passed the United Nations Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE), or the G to P Examination (G to P). Experience with MS Office 365 including MS Power BI or equivalent data systems for data visualization, MS Power App, and MS SharePoint is desirable. Experience delivering training on organizational performance assessment methodologies, data collection and data visualization is desirable. Experience in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing information from multiple sources, and producing analytical reports and briefings to support senior-level decision-making is desirable.
A first-level university degree in political science, international relations, international economics, law, public administration or other related area.
