Overview

This internship focuses on information coordination, reporting, and management within the Strategic Planning and Inter-Agency Affairs Unit. The intern will support the Unit's work by contributing to documentation, research, and coordination efforts.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to drafting and preparation of UN and UNODC publications, briefing notes, background notes, reports, internal documents, presentations, correspondences, talking points, and speeches;
  • Maintain a repository of information, ensuring its accuracy, accessibility, and utility;
  • Support research and coordination for UNODC’s contributions to Secretary-General’s reports, Human Rights Council reports, and system-wide requests;
  • Respond to requests from other UN entities, Office of the Executive Director, or Director of Policy Analysis and Public Affairs;
  • Support the design and layout of infographics, web pages, and presentations;
  • Assist with technical/ICT arrangements for webinars or hybrid events.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications
  • HS Diploma
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Teams.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
The intern is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
