Overview
The intern will provide MEL and data collection support to the Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling Section. The role focuses on assisting with data collection instruments, analysis, and communication materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and dissemination of data collection instruments.
- Provide data collection support by supporting communication with relevant colleagues, compiling data, storing data, and tracking completion.
- Assist in the analysis of data regarding follow-up impact assessments.
- Assist in preparing briefing notes, statements, presentations, and communication materials.
- Support the preparation of strategic presentations to donors and external stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of project steering committee meetings.
- Assist in the tracking of MEL folders, calendar of events, and data figures.
- Assist in the monitoring of reporting requirements and timelines.
- Support the drafting of key project documents.
- Carry out other tasks related to the implementation of the UNODC Global Action against Trafficking in Persons and the Smuggling of Migrants, as requested.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Have studies in criminology, law, political or social sciences, including psychology, international relations or in a related field, with a data or research focus.
- Have sound data analysis skills, good drafting ability; computer skills, especially MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Have a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
