Overview

Support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of GBV programmes under the supervision of the Head of Aleppo Sub-Office. The role involves assisting in coordination efforts, supporting partners in delivering quality GBV services, contributing to needs assessments, and ensuring proper documentation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the formulation and design of Annual Work Plans (AWPs).
  • Support the implementation of GBV projects by maintaining effective working relationships with Implementing Partners (IPs).
  • Contribute to the documentation and analysis of GBV trends and issues.
  • Assist in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts at the field level.
  • Provide inputs to GBV humanitarian response activities.
  • Monitor project expenditures and budgets.
  • Analyze and report on the local political, social, and economic context relevant to GBV.
  • Provide technical support to implementing partners in line with UNFPA standards and Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) GBV guidelines.
  • Support partners in establishing and strengthening women’s and adolescent girls’ groups.
  • Contribute to the implementation of women’s empowerment initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance to GBV case management staff.
  • Support partners in ensuring ethical data collection, data protection, and GBV information management practices.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities.
  • Promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and the engagement of men and boys in GBV prevention and response activities.
  • Ensure that GBV-related procurement processes are implemented in line with UNFPA rules and procedures.
  • Support integration of GBV interventions with other programme areas.
  • Maintain regular communication with field teams and provide technical and programmatic support on GBV-related issues.
  • Collaborate with M&E, Communications, and Programme/Operations Support (POS) units.
  • Work in coordination with the GBV team in Damascus.
  • Support coordination mechanisms, including GBV mainstreaming across SRH and Youth programmes.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
  • At least 5 years of professional work experience, at the national and/or international level, in programme/or project management of GBV prevention and response programming, or other relevant programmes;
  • Experience with returnees and IDPs response is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization;
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious, women-led and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • Desirable: Have affinity with or interest in gender mainstreaming and GBV integration in programming, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.

Bachelor's degree in Gender and Development, Psychology, Social Science, Business Administration or other related field
