Overview

The Communications Associate will support UNFPA Bihar programmes and advocacy interventions by increasing visibility among stakeholders. The role involves developing communication materials and documenting flagship programmes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support in the execution of state specific communications and media strategy and plan
  • Develop programmatic communications products such as, brochures, leaflets, facts sheets, and posters
  • Develop innovative communication materials such as training toolkit, BCC modules aimed at community advocacy and engagement
  • Document flagship programmes and turn it into compelling products such as success stories, case studies, testimonials, human interest stories
  • Assist in proofreading and editing reports, documents as well as developing content for talking points, remarks etc.
  • Support the team with curation and coordination of events, campaigns, workshops highlighting the work of UNFPA Bihar and building relationships within the ecosystem
  • Liaise with the Communications and Media Unit in organising media workshops, media visits, press release and media information kit
  • Liaise with the Communications and Media unit and highlight state specific events via social media reportage and posts.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the State Head.
Required Experience
  • A minimum three years of relevant work experience in digital and social media, communications and/or public relations;
  • Demonstrated understanding of design tools and softwares (Canva). Adobe design suite is desirable
  • Photography experience and basic skills in video editing and production will be an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in conceptualising and designing communications materials and collaterals
Qualifications

Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or other related areas.

Remuneration
• Monthly Voluntary Living Allowance (VLA): INR 70,158.41 • Entry lump sum (one-time payment): USD 350 (equivalent in INR) • Relocation costs: $175 at the beginning and end of the assignment if the duty station is outside of commuting distance (as determined by UNV) • Exit allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment): $120 for each month served, paid on completion of contract • Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for health, life, and malicious acts • Annual leave: 2.5 days per month • Learning: Access to UNV's learning and career development resources
