Overview
The Interpreter/Translator will provide specialized translation expertise, facilitating communication between English and Arabic within the UNODC Programme Office team and relevant technical units.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret from Arabic into English and vice versa during meetings and events, including training workshops conducted with the governmental counterparts.
- Written translation as required.
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in complex technical translation and interpretation.
- Experience in complex technical translation and interpretation in areas related to UNODC’s mandate is an asset.
- Experience working in the UN or other international development organizations is an asset.
- Technical knowledge in the anti-narcotics field is an asset.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in area of development, criminal justice, humanitarian, or translation and interpretation
