Overview
The Network Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the Technology Foundations component by ensuring the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust, secure and reliable network infrastructure. This infrastructure connects data centers, regional hubs and field delegations enabling seamless communication and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure (SD-WAN, ZTNA, firewalls).
- Support real-time and low-latency applications, proactively monitor network performance, availability, and incidents, and deliver 24/7 service.
- Provide support for proprietary and open-source network solutions and assist ICT teams in the field.
- Resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs/OLAs, proactively manage and monitor ticket queues and backlogs.
- Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Monitor and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents, perform regular system updates, patching, and maintenance.
- Provide technical orientation and knowledge sharing on network technologies and solutions.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Experienced in proprietary network components (e.g.: Fortinet).
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and incident management frameworks.
- Understanding about the ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access) principles and implementation.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF) and network security best practices.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experienced in development & operation processes.
- Experienced in technical support processes.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
