Overview

The Programme Officer will support the Peacebuilding Impact Hub's workstreams, focusing on data, evidence, convening, and capacity building to foster collaboration and strengthen peacebuilding impact measurement and communication.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Peacebuilding Data Platform initiative, including design, strategic planning, project management, coordination, and external engagement.
  • Liaise with technical counterparts to define functional requirements, oversee data collation and preparation, and manage the technical development of the Data Platform.
  • Conduct consultations and user testing for the Data Platform.
  • Coordinate evidence generation activities such as ‘Impact Spotlight’ exercises.
  • Provide substantive inputs for evidence generation activities, including developing Terms of Reference and reviewing reports.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge products supporting peacebuilding impact measurement and communication.
  • Contribute to research and policy development on peacebuilding and impact.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with civil society organizations, UN entities, and academic institutions.
  • Design and coordinate outreach activities including training sessions, workshops, and consultations.
  • Contribute to office-wide priorities such as the annual CSO-UN Dialogue and Peacebuilding Week.
  • Prepare written outputs such as background papers and speeches.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, the humanitarian-development-peace nexus or related areas is required.
  • Experience managing complex projects, ideally related to data and evidence, technology or innovation, is required.
  • Experience building successful partnerships with a range of stakeholders (UN, civil society, academia) is required.
  • Knowledge of different tools and approaches for measuring, monitoring and/or evaluating the results and impact of projects, ideally in peacebuilding contexts, is required.
  • Experience managing, implementing or evaluating peacebuilding programmes at a country/field level is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic knowledge of foundational concepts in data manipulation and analysis are desirable.
Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent), preferably in conflict and peace studies, political science, international relations, or related fields. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
