Overview

The Partnerships Officer will contribute to securing public sector income, promoting development and humanitarian resources for child-focused outcomes, and facilitating intergovernmental and interagency engagement to champion child rights.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to income and insights & analytics for World Bank Group and RDBs/IFIs.
  • Contribute to overall engagement and partnership with IFIs and DC-based stakeholders.
  • Contribute to review and negotiation of World Bank Group agreements and amendments.
  • Contribute to analysis and research related to scoping and launching new World Bank Group different modalities and other IFIs.
  • Support quality assurance and clearance of all World Bank Group financing agreements, amendments, reports, and overall grant management.
  • Draft guidance, BNs, tools, and templates to support operational engagement with World Bank Group.
  • Support on internal coordination on issue resolution for World Bank Group and other IFIs operational issues.
  • Contribute to risk management including due diligence and compliance with assigned partner requirements.
  • Review and comment on terms of agreements of funding.
  • Record opportunities in UNISON and monitor funding pipeline.
  • Assist in the Annual Programme Consultations with resource partners.
  • Support preparation of project proposal to resource partners in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to review and clearance of resource partner agreements and no-cost extensions and support post-award actions.
  • Contribute to the preparation for and monitoring outcomes of high-level meetings.
  • Quality assurance of programmatic reports of Country and Regional Offices.
  • Support insight gathering and sharing.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on partner and income trends.
  • Prepare briefing notes, reports and other documentation for senior management.
  • Summarize results from meetings.
  • Contribute to strategic briefing packages for senior management.
  • Support the screening of inquiries from potential collaborators and facilitates communication with appropriate UNICEF staff.
  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of influence, engagement and advocacy strategies and plans with assigned public partners and provide support around cross cutting issues for the PPD North America and IFIs Pillar.
  • Provide support to the Washington DC Director with matters related to external engagements with diverse partners and stakeholders, including research, coordination, outreach, preparation and follow-up and as requested.
  • Provide support when informing and influencing partners agenda to position UNICEF as a partner of choice for income and influence with key partners, including Member States.
  • Support the development and facilitation of knowledge, policy briefs, familiarity and contact with assigned partner(s) and relevant stakeholders in Washington DC and other locations.
  • Support the coordination with other parts of UNICEF on relevant discussions and issues as they relate to assigned partner(s).
  • Support the coordination of meetings and events as a platform for UNICEF's engagement on strategic issues for children with partners.
  • Support Country Offices to improve resource partner reporting.
  • Contribute to capacity building initiatives for Country and Regional Offices.
  • Provide support in developing and maintaining knowledge management tools and products including on good practices and lessons learned.
  • Organize other information sharing opportunities such as presentations, webinars etc as needed.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing the Section’s contribution to Division wide corporate planning, monitoring, communication.
  • Provide support to senior management in corporate engagement and interaction.
Required Experience

At least 2 years of relevant work experience in programme management, public affairs, resource mobilization, external relations, business administration/finance and any other related fields.

Qualifications

Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Political Science, International Development, Communications, Finance, International Relations and any other related fields.
