Overview
The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Maternal Health (SRH / MH) Analyst will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) programmes within UNFPA sub-offices in Sudan.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide programmatic and technical support to implementing partners in project design, planning, implementation, and monitoring.
- Facilitate the work of consultants, advisers, and experts, and establish cooperative relationships with government counterparts and civil society organizations.
- Contribute to program results by supporting SRH interventions with attention to Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EmONC), including men and boys’ engagement, and SRH interventions for marginalized groups.
- Work with implementing partners on initiatives related to rights-based quality SRH service delivery and provide capacity-building support.
- Report on SRH project progress, conduct monitoring field visits, and perform analytical review of program performance.
- Contribute to knowledge management strategies, including dissemination of national guidelines and IEC materials.
- Monitor SRH UNFPA program and financial implementation, tracking progress of activities and program indicators.
- Support the development of national capacities in SRH at institutional and partner levels.
- Contribute to the review of laws, policies, strategies, and products on SRHR.
- Participate in communication, advocacy, and resource mobilization efforts.
- Participate in relevant workshops and events to enhance UNFPA's mandate on SRHR.
- Support emergency preparedness and contingency plans.
- Lead the sub-national SRH TWG and represent it in relevant meetings.
- Ensure effective coordination and information flow among stakeholders.
- Carry out any other duties as may be required by UNFPA leadership.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience at the national level in the field of sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, or population activities, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
- Experience in program/project implementation, including involvement in multi-sector initiatives, supporting proposal development, and liaising with relevant and potential project partners.
- Knowledge of the national health system and national models for the provision of health services.
- Knowledge and understanding of the quality of care and human rights applied to users of health services in SRH, including basic familiarity with clinical care considerations for survivors of sexual violence.
- Experience in culturally sensitive programming.
- Knowledge of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health (RH) and experience in implementing.
- Demonstrated experience in programme/project planning, follow-up, monitoring, and evaluation, including basic data analysis and analytical reporting.
- Ability to provide programmatic support and contribute to the production of quality results within assigned areas of work.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manage spreadsheets, use essential functions (e.g., pivot tables, data analysis tools), and effectively organize and analyze data.
- Knowledge of Quantum is preferred.
Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master Degree) in Public Health, Medicine/Health Sciences or other related discipline.
