Overview

The Information Systems Officer will provide operational leadership and oversee the planning, management, and delivery of technical conference and meeting services to UNON clients. The role involves providing technical leadership and work direction to the conference support team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational leadership on conference technology, including CMSI, RSI, AV, broadcasting, webstreaming, MAMS, video conferencing, digital signage, and captioning.
  • Provide technical leadership and work direction to the assigned conference support team, mentor and supervise junior officers and contract staff.
  • Develop cost proposals for contractual services, prepare procurement plans, and oversee technical evaluation of proposals.
  • Gather and monitor AV and ICT requirements for meetings, measure progress, and take corrective actions.
  • Propose and optimize policies, standards, and operating procedures for conference technology support.
  • Plan and execute upgrades of AV and IT equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor information standards and guidelines, and prepare technical documentation.
  • Ensure business continuity of conference operations through SLAs and ERM, and provide DR training.
  • Support digital transformation in conference management by leading the adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Collect and analyze data to detect trends and patterns, presenting insights using data visualization methods.
  • Perform related duties assigned by the Chief of the Section.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, operation and maintenance of large-scale (>1,000 delegate positions) Conference Management and Simultaneous Interpretation (CMSI) systems with AV Control systems, integration with hybrid-meeting platforms, Webstreaming, Video-Conferencing and AV Broadcast and Recording systems is required.
  • Two (2) years or more experience managing a team of ICTS technicians or service desk is required.
  • Experience with Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) platforms and Digital Signage is desirable.
  • AV experience in an international organization is desirable.
  • Two (2) years or more experience in data analytics or related areas is desirable.
  • Two (2) years or more experience in managing an AV Over IP infrastructure is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, business management or related field is required.
  • A first-level degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two (2) additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
  • Supplemental certifications in the ICT & Project Management fields such as ITIL, Prince 2 or PMP are required.
  • Supplemental certifications in the AV fields such as Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I), Dante, Shure/DIS, Bosch, Taiden, Televic, Q-Sys, Crestron, SMPTE ST-2110, etc. are desirable.
