Overview
The internship will assist the Science, Technology and Innovation for Development Section in conducting analysis, contributing to technical assistance projects, and servicing meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Participation in meetings (online or in person) with the supervisor and team.
- Assisting in the organization and servicing of the 2026-2027 intersessional Panel of the CSTD, and the meetings of the Working Group on Data Governance.
- Providing substantive support for the preparation of documents (e.g. presentations and summary) required for the meetings.
- Conducting quantitative and qualitative background research, such as compiling data and information on technology and innovation trends related to sustainable development and preparing charts or graphs.
- Supporting other activities of the section, as required.
Required Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Should be computer literate in standard software applications;
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
