Overview
This internship is within the Accounting and Corporate Governance Section of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The role supports the organization of intergovernmental working groups, outreach activities, research, and project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the overall organization of the forty-third session of the Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR);
- Supporting outreach activities to enlarge the ISAR network, including social media such as Twitter and LinkedIn;
- Providing research assistance in the area of international accounting and reporting standards in the public and private sectors;
- Supporting activities of the Development Account Project 16th Tranche;
- Assisting preparation of the ISAR Honours 2026 including organizing the ceremony and preparing social media campaign, and developing the relevant photo/video materials etc.
Required Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Should be computer literate in standard software applications;
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
