Overview
This internship position is within the Sustainable Development and Integrated Planning Section (SDIPS) of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The intern will contribute to the work of the Section under the guidance of the Chief of Section and direct supervision of a responsible officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Researching and analyzing topics relating to sustainable economic development, development planning, urban planning, governance, and poverty reduction in Africa.
- Providing inputs to and editing publications, papers and other documents.
- Liaising with MFGPD stakeholders.
- Supporting the organization of meetings and events.
- Assisting with outreach activities.
- Participating in day-to-day operational tasks of the Division.
- Performing administrative tasks as assigned.
Required Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (i.e. second-level university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (i.e. at the bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Applicants must be computer literate in standard software applications.
