Overview
The intern will assist the International Tax and Development Cooperation Branch in supporting the work of the UN Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters and the Capacity Development Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assistance in drafting, reviewing and preparing papers, presentations, studies, reports and any other relevant documents;
- Attending and summarizing conference proceedings and meetings, including virtual meetings;
- Assistance during meetings, including virtual meetings;
- Research, compilation and analysis of information in tax matters;
- Preparing and providing input for briefing notes, talking points, speeches and similar materials on tax matters and development cooperation issues for senior UN officials;
- Following relevant intergovernmental meetings (including virtual meetings) of the General Assembly and Economic and Social Council, and preparing draft summaries;
- Assisting with any other ad hoc assignments related to the work of the branch.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Applicants must be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
