Overview
This internship focuses on economic affairs, involving research support, project implementation assistance, and digital content development within the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to developing and testing GeoAI for capacity building
- Assist in the research of Geo AI applications and innovation in countries in Asia and the Pacific
- Provide support in the implementation of capacity development projects with cooperation partners
- Provide support in the development of needs assessment surveys, user feedback on geospatial tools, and training content on fundamental and advanced topics on state-of-the-art geospatial tools
- Support the team in their day-to-day activities and tasks
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
- be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent)
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
- Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Office 365, Google Earth Engine, image processing and presentation software.
