Overview
The internship supports the research agenda of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean by conducting research on topics such as Artificial Intelligence and new technologies and their impact on economic development in LAC.
Key Responsibilities
- Research on topics such as Artificial Intelligence, new technologies, and their impact on economic development (with a focus on LAC).
- Conduct literature reviews to understand the current state of the research topic and its implications for LAC.
- Summarize and analyze relevant research papers and publications.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions.
- Attend relevant conferences, webinars, and seminars.
- Collect information from official country data, specialized agencies, and other sources.
- Review and compile the collected data and information, prepare reports, and update databases of the Office, incorporating appropriate tables, graphs, and charts with references.
- Assist in the day-to-day work of the Office if required.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- Be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PH.D. Programme.
- Have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
