Overview
Provides substantive support to the planning, coordination, and delivery of project activities. Collaborates with project stakeholders to maintain effective coordination and ensure efficient delivery of activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports senior technical leads or project managers in stakeholder engagement, training needs assessment, and capacity-building program development.
- Contributes to budget preparation, procurement processes, and risk identification with mitigation measures.
- Assists in drafting project agreements, amendments, and budget revisions.
- Coordinates logistics for training sessions, workshops, and meetings.
- Supports the development of training materials and integration of thematic inputs.
- Liaises with service providers and project stakeholders for effective implementation.
- Facilitates internal and external communications.
- Develops and updates monitoring tools, progress tracking sheets, and risk/issue registers.
- Collects, prepares, and archives documentation.
- Contributes to drafting and quality assurance of reports, meeting minutes, and donor/partner submissions.
- Tracks project milestones and alerts managers on deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Ensures compliance with UNOPS policies, procedures, and donor requirements.
- Coordinates procurement, travel, transport, and inventory management.
- Supports HR-related project requirements.
- Manages project files, shared drives, and document management systems.
- Supports the organization, facilitation, and delivery of training and learning sessions on project management.
- Participates in knowledge-sharing initiatives and Communities of Practice.
- Conducts research on project management-related topics and contributes to drafting reports.
Required Experience
- Secondary school (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Relevant experience is work in project management or related areas.
- Demonstrable proficiency in the use of collaboration and productivity tools (e.g. MS Office, G-Suite, etc) and web-based management systems is required.
- Experience of working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country is desired.
- Experience in development or humanitarian contexts is desired.
Qualifications
- Secondary school (or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline
- A globally recognized professional certificate or membership in Project Management is desired.
