Overview
The Private Sector Due Diligence and Compliance Officer supports the implementation of IOM’s Private Sector Strategy through due diligence guidance and supporting the partnership building process.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate private sector due diligence research activities, supporting compliance with organizational standards.
- Coordinate the regular review and update of due diligence instructions and frameworks.
- Carry out research for prospective private sector partners to verify compliance with IOM’s due diligence.
- Provide initial guidance on the application of pre-approved legal templates for partnership development.
- Provide advice to PSP focal points and other colleagues to support alignment of all private sector engagements with organizational and UN values.
- Engage in interdepartmental discussions with Legal, Finance, and other stakeholder to address complex contractual considerations.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of capacity-building initiatives, including training and knowledge products.
- Contribute to broader PSP knowledge management efforts.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, environmental, social, governance reputational or financial compliance risks research and intelligence, due diligence and risk assessment or risk analysis, risk management, market research, quantitative analysis, and project management;
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and providing inputs to legal documents, including donations and partnerships agreements between Intergovernmental Organization (IGOs) and private sector entities; and,
- Fundraising/marketing communication experience in an international organization.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Law, International Relations, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or,
- University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.
