Overview
To provide support to policy and food assistance needs, contributing to WFP Country Office efforts to support the government with the technical, operational and strategic implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage implementation of technical assistance to the Government, including leading design and revision of workplans, managing provision of technical assistance, assisting stakeholders in identifying solutions, supporting effective implementation of WFP initiatives, leading technical support for food fortification integration, leading and coordinating SBCC activities, and supporting data collection and monitoring.
- Facilitate external and internal coordination, including leading coordination with government counterparts, fostering collaboration with development partners, and promoting cross-sectoral coordination within WFP.
- Manage partnership development and resource mobilization, including identifying new partnerships and supporting resource mobilization strategy.
- Lead advocacy and knowledge management, including leading key meetings and preparing high quality reports and materials.
- Manage regular monitoring of programme budget.
- Act as Officer-in-Charge for the Head of School Meals during periods of absence.
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in programme management, government coordination, or related areas. Previous work experience with school meals or with national sector platforms (in education, food security, nutrition, health, social protection, agriculture and/or related field). Experience in food fortification and/or SBCC is an added advantage.
Qualifications
Advanced University degree in Public Policy, International Development, Nutrition, Education, or a related field.
