Overview

The purpose of this internship is to provide a graduate level student or recent graduate with practical learning experience within the Global Fund Unit, enhancing academic knowledge through exposure to programme support, coordination, data management and administrative processes related to health programming.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support implementation of ICT management systems and strategies.
  • Assist in supporting compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines and procedures applicable to the Country Office technology environment.
  • Support the organization and structuring of SharePoint and other digital repositories, including standardizing folder structures, document naming conventions and version control in line with corporate information management practices.
  • Assist in the clean-up, migration and archiving of documentation, including support to grant close-out processes (e.g. C19RM) and preparation for subsequent programme cycles.
  • Support the development, updating and maintenance of Excel-based and SharePoint-based tracking tools for routine operational monitoring (e.g. ICT assets, service requests, and other programme support activities), including improving existing trackers for accuracy, usability and consistency.
  • Provide ICT support during key meetings and events, including assistance with audio‑visual and video‑conferencing arrangements for hybrid meetings.
  • Support ICT helpdesk functions, responding to basic user queries and routing more complex issues to relevant ICT staff.
  • Assist with routine technical tasks, including replacement of basic hardware components (e.g. disks, memory, network cables and power accessories) and support minor repairs in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support network administration.
  • Assist with basic cloud‑based backup and restoration activities for local drives, following established procedures.
  • Support ICT colleagues in virus detection, removal and prevention activities, including routine scanning and reporting issues.
  • Respond to user queries and requests related to network access, escalating technical issues to senior staff where required.
  • Assist in maintaining an up‑to‑date inventory of ICT hardware, software, supplies and spare parts.
  • Support the development, updating and maintenance of Excel-based and SharePoint-based tracking tools for routine operational monitoring (e.g. ICT assets, service requests, and other programme support activities), including improving existing trackers for accuracy, usability and consistency.
  • Support other/ad hoc activities as seen relevant and needed.
  • Participate and assist in the organization of training for the CO staff on ICT issues.
  • Provide contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
  • Support the use of Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. SharePoint) to improve efficiency in document management and routine processes.
Required Experience
  • Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools;
  • Relevant knowledge network administration, web design, providing technical support for hardware/software or cloud ERP environments; and applying knowledge of database applications, web-based management systems, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
Qualifications
  • currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; or
  • currently enrolled in a Master’s degree; or
  • have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent studies.
  • Field of study: Information Technology, Information Management, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or an equivalent field will be given due consideration.
