Overview
Provide strategic leadership to accelerate low-carbon development and climate resilience across ADB's developing member countries. Lead policy dialogue and collaborate with regional and sector departments to identify, design and implement innovative programs, tools, and investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead provision of capacity building and knowledge support to DMCs for developing solutions for low-carbon transition.
- Conduct analytical work to identify opportunities for economically sound resilient and efficient development solutions.
- Provide technical advice to teams across sovereign operations, and non-sovereign operations on low-carbon transition.
- Work with teams to originate, structure and implement climate-aligned investments.
- Contribute to ADB's thought leadership on key issues related to low carbon transition.
- Mobilize finance to support team activities.
- Engage in strategic partnerships at global, regional, and national levels.
- Represent ADB at regional and international forums.
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives.
- Provide mentoring and capacity development support to team members.
Required Experience
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in sustainable development/climate change, including international experience working in several countries.
- Demonstrated expertise in emerging and existing low carbon technologies with recognized ability to lead technical assistance projects and share relevant knowledge.
- Familiarity with mandates, operations, and policies of multilateral financial institutions.
- Two years of relevant experience outside ADB within the past five years is required.
Qualifications
• A Master's degree or equivalent in sustainable development, public policy, economics, climate change, environment, or related fields; or University degree or equivalent in sustainable development, public policy, economics, climate change, environment, or related fields and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered.
