Overview
Provides daily technical support to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure in the Pacific office. Promotes a client-oriented approach and works in close collaboration with Operations, Programme and project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines and procedures.
- Support to the use of ERP functionality.
- Provision of inputs to CO administrative business processes mapping and implementation of SOPs.
- Performance of specific technical functions, including changing of hardware electronic components and routine repairs.
- Assistance in the installation of commercial and in-house developed software and related upgrades.
- Assistance in upgrading patch and anti-virus programs.
- Monitoring of file server traffic, usage and performance.
- Support to users in backing up and restoring their files.
- Assistance in troubleshooting and monitoring of network problems.
- Response to user needs and questions regarding network access.
- Assistance in maintenance of all online shared folders, teams’ space in the UNDP cloud.
- Assistance in backup and restoration procedures for local drives.
- Maintenance of an up-to-date inventory of software and hardware.
- Maintenance of a library of ICT related reference materials.
- Maintenance of the inventory and stock of supplies and spare parts.
- Maintenance of the filing system ensuring safekeeping of confidential materials.
- Extraction of data from various sources.
- Research and retrieval of data from internal and external sources.
- Preparation of statistical charts, tables and reports.
- Provision of ICT support to key events.
- Participation and assistance in the organization of training for the CO staff on ICT issues.
Required Experience
Minimum five (5) years (with Secondary education) or two (2) years (with Bachelor’s degree) of relevant working experience, including network administration, support to management of hardware and software platforms, telecommunications facilities, knowledge of Windows-based packages/applications.
Qualifications
Completion of Secondary education is required with specialized formal training on IT systems, business software (Microsoft Office) and web-based applications. A University degree (Bachelor’s degree) in Computer Science and Information Technology or relevant related field will be given due consideration, but not required.
