Overview
The Social Media & Content Specialist will collect, create and curate digital content for WFP Afghanistan’s social media platforms, manage social accounts and maintain a content calendar.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture photos and videos from field locations, events and activities.
- Develop case studies that profile WFP’s work and impact.
- Script, edit and produce multimedia content (video, graphic, photo) specific to social platforms.
- Create content packages tailored to donor requirements.
- Understand organizational priorities and key messages and find creative ways to turn them into social-friendly content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members on content ideas.
- Stay up to date on the latest content trends across platforms.
- Ensure all content adheres to WFP branding, visibility, and ethical guidelines.
- Develop and curate a content calendar.
- Write social media copy and schedule organic posts on daily basis for Twitter and Facebook.
- Conduct social listening and monitoring to track online conversations, measure engagement, identify emerging risks and trends, and provide insights.
- Develop visually compelling graphics tailored for social media platforms.
- Design graphics, infographics and visual assets for reports and presentations.
Required Experience
At least one (1) year of postgraduate professional experience in social media content creation and platform management.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, International Relations, Political science or other relevant field or bachelors degree with two additional years of relevant professional experience.
