Overview

The Programme Associate (VAME) SC6 role is located in WFP Jalalabad Area Offices and serves as the Area Office VAME lead, overseeing monitoring, assessment, and reporting activities to ensure effective programme implementation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized technical support to programme activities and coordinate evidence generation.
  • Coordinate VAME processes and tools with the Country Office.
  • Provide technical guidance to Monitoring Assistants and support staff.
  • Ensure accurate data recording, verification, and maintenance.
  • Prepare analytical reports, dashboards, and operational updates.
  • Liaise with internal units and external partners for coherent implementation.
  • Lead Third-Party Monitor (TPM) planning, coordination, and oversight.
  • Supervise and quality-assure TPM outputs.
  • Contribute to capacity strengthening of staff, partners, and national counterparts.
  • Oversee and review the work of junior support staff and field teams.
  • Serve as a point of contact for operational queries and recommend solutions.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Recommend improvements to monitoring processes, tools, and reporting standards.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 6 years of work experience in Programme, Monitoring and Evaluation, data management, and field monitoring.
  • Experience coordinating with partners (especially third party monitoring service provider) and supervising support staff is an asset.
Qualifications
  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Development/Humanitarian studies or relevant area would be an added advantage.
